What We Owe

Posted By tonbomai on Aug 10, 2013

It was just a small lump. I could barely feel it on my sweet ‘Yagers’ tummy, but the thought of what it could be was huge to me.

We made an appointment with the vet and took her in. We waited ….

The results… Cancer. I was devastated. Yager was my baby, Her mother. Sake, had passed the very day she was born.

I bottle fed her until she was strong enough to eat on her own. She depended on me as a baby and she was depending on me now.

I took her to Arrowhead Ranch Animal Hospital for a second opinion. They ordered a second biopsy and lung x-rays. We were lucky the cancer

was not in her lungs. We were able to have her surgery the following day.

After the surgery her vet,Dr. Ardelt, was concerned for her and took her to his home to watch over her overnight. I am so grateful to him for that.

The next day she was back home, healing and cancer free! As I write this, she is sleeping at my feet. I am so blessed

that we have been given many more years with her.

Below are some pictures of her as she continues to get stronger:)
